The most popular beaches begin from Marathi and continue in a circular succession towards the north west with the beaches of Stavros, Tersanas, Kalatha and Agio Onoufrio, all with their own unique beauty, however, the beach which stands out is that of Tersana which is located 13 kilometers north east of Chania, a sandy gulf impervious to the etesian winds due to its position and with an uninhibited view which stretches on all sides from the Cape of Spatha (known today as Peace Cape) to the horizon. 

At the foot of this beautiful sea gulf are steps which lead to the amazing beauty of the Villas Kirki and Neaira.
